ここ10年間、アジアはあらゆる分野で急速に発展し進化を遂げ、国際社会から注目を集めています。世界的規模での気候、生息環境や地域社会の劇的な変動とともに、アジア社会が直面する諸問題も顕著になってきています。これらの課題を解決するうえで、デザインはこれまで以上に非常に重要になってきています。デザイン思考と人間中心のアプローチを通じて、デザインソリューションは私たちの都市の社会的幸福や経済的福祉を向上することができます。
本展示会は香港デザインセンターの事業を紹介し、2017のアジアデザイン賞と、2016-17の香港ヤングデザインタレント賞受賞デザイン(一部)を展示するものです。

In the recent decade, Asia has been the spotlight in the international scene, rapidly evolving and developing on all fronts. Together with the dramatic change on the climate, the habitat and the community on a global scale, we are seeing a new set of challenges faced by Asian societies. Design, now more than ever, is becoming crucial in combating these challenges. Through design thinking and people-centric approach, design solutions can better enhance and uplift the social and economic well-being of our cities.
This DFA Awards Exhibition aims to give a glimpse on what we do. It showcases selected winning projects of DFA Design for Asia Awards 2017 and DFA Hong Kong Young Design Talent Award 2016-17 with user-centric designs to enhance the quality of life of people in Asia and for Asia.

About DFA Design for Asia Awards：DFA アジアデザイン賞

2003年にスタートしたDFAアジアデザイン賞は、アジア社会固有の文化的価値を内含し、持続可能な発展と、地域の人々の生活の質を高めるための技術利用を考慮したデザインプロジェクトを称えるものです。
香港デザインセンターが主催するこの賞は、アジアデザイン賞の主要コンペの一つとして、優れたデザインを世に出し、アジア的視点を持つ傑出したデザインを表彰することを目的としています。

Since 2003, the DFA Design for Asia Awards honours and acknowledges user-centric designs that embrace cultural values unique in Asian societies, with concerns for sustainable development and use of technology to enhance the quality of life for people in the region. Organised by the Hong Kong Design Centre and as one of the programmes of DFA Awards, it aims to celebrate design excellence and acknowledge outstanding designs with Asian perspectives.

About Hong Kong Young Design Talent Award：DFA香港ヤングデザインタレント賞

2005年に設立されたDFA 香港ヤングデザインタレント賞は、35歳以下の香港出身デザイナーやデザイン卒業生の支援・育成を目的としています。スポンサーはCreate Hong Kong、香港デザインインスティテュート、香港理工大学デザインスクールで、受賞者は優秀なデザイン企業への就業体験（6ヶ月から12ヶ月間）、または海外に留学するための資金援助を50万香港ドルまで受けることができます。

Established in 2005, DFA Hong Kong Young Design Talent Award aims to support and nurture up-and-coming practising designers and design graduates in Hong Kong aged 35 or below. Sponsored by Create Hong Kong, Hong Kong Design Institute and School of Design of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, award winners may receive financial sponsorship up to HK$500,000 to undergo work attachment in renowned design companies aboard or to study overseas for 6 to 12 months.
